We in the Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization strive toward the education of Standardbred lovers and the general public alike in all aspects of horsemanship through a cooperative and fun environment. Our goal is to promote the Standardbred as a non-racing performance and pleasure horse by offering opportunities to learn the proper care, maintenance, and training while encouraging participation in a variety of horse related activities from instructional clinics and seminars to therapeutic riding/driving programs to gymkhanas. The Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization of Florida, Inc. encourages retraining, placement and promotion of the Standardbred horse for pleasure purposes before, during and after harness racing careers. Further, the Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization of Florida serves its members and community by providing education and prevention of cruelty of animals through foster care programs, in an effort to save these horses from undue slaughter.
